LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of Taylor Swift are not thrilled that Kim Kardashian chose Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, together with their two-year-old Sterling and eleven-month-old Bronze, for SKIMS' new Christmas ad.
From leading the Chiefs to a 7-2 record as quarterbacks to joining the A-list fan base in the stands and on girl's nights out, they've been everywhere this year. Now, the defending First Family of Football is bringing you into the Christmas spirit with their own SKIMS campaign!
Patrick and Brittany, together with their two children, are the new faces of Kim's apparel empire's yearly vacation destination.
The family of four, dressed in their cozy SKIMS fits from the label's most recent holiday collection, and embodies the campaign's concept of "family togetherness and holiday fun" as they stand among oversized gifts and red teddy bears.
On Kim's Instagram profile, keen fans left notes like, "Swifties rn making the math math." While another user added, "Oh she … knows exactly what’s she’s doing."
One person also wrote, "If there’s one thing about Kim K she’s going to get to that money." While hinting at the Taylor connection, a fourth user noted, "Seems like someone’s trying to get closer to a certain someone who’s been hanging with these people lately."
Others quipped, "Smh should’ve used the Kelces." While another wrote, "You could’ve used anyone. Like anyone else."
A Swiftie further asked, "Did mother approve of this? #TeamTaylor." "Weird choice considering who her new circle is 😆," wrote another.
Dave Portnoy bashes Brittany Mahomes for Skims collaboration amid Taylor Swift camaraderie
Perhaps they ought to have declined. The new Skims Christmas commercial features Patrick, Brittany, and their kids, and Dave Portnoy, who is obsessed with Taylor, is not thrilled that Kim chose them.
The Barstool Sports owner, who has long-standing animosity with both Kim and her former partner Kanye West, chastised the retired soccer player for working with Kim in the midst of her recent friendship with Taylor, who is dating Patrick's teammate Travis Kelce.
Dave posted the advertisements on his Instagram Story, writing, "F—k that traitorous piece of s—t Brittany Mahomes," and even included emojis for puking over another campaign photo.
Additionally, he posted a photo taken by paparazzi that showed Mahomes hanging out with singer Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, and Sophie Turner, with an X covering the WAG.
In a self-shot "emergency press release" while in flight, Dave said, "What the f—k? I was enraged."
"I will never f—king forgive that rat, she should’ve gone to jail for that," the media magnate said. "Yeah, I freaked the f—k out, all Swifties should freak the f—k out. We gotta protect mother."
What happened between Taylor Swift and Kanye West?
Tension between Taylor and Kanye stems from the 2009 VMAs, when the rapper stormed the stage as the singer of "You Belong With Me" accepted the award for Best Female Video. Taylor's 2010 song "Innocent" was inspired by Kanye's claim that Beyoncé was the category's rightful winner.
Though it appeared that the two had patched things up by 2015—Taylor even gave Kanye the Vanguard Award at the VMAs that year—he made reference to her the following year in his song "Famous," from the "Life of Pablo," rapping, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous."
Kim posted footage on Snapchat of a phone call between the two musicians in which the singer seemed to approve of the lyrics after Taylor angrily denied having approved the mention, as Kanye claimed she had. A longer version of the same conversation leaked in 2020, proving Kim's clips had been edited and supporting Taylor.
