LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ co-hosts are often thrilled about the guests they have on their talk show, and Lala Kent from ‘Vanderpump Rules’ was no exception. In fact, the co-hosts, especially Alyssa Farah Griffin, was thrilled about Kent’s presence. Although Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Griffin were all part of the conversation, Whoopi Goldberg particularly took offense to something, which could have turned into a huge blunder.
Normally, Goldberg avoids blunders by heading to a commercial break, but this time, she simply shook it off with a disappointed look on her face and a little chuckle. Swearing is a no-go when it comes to ‘The View’ and words like "f**k" or "c**t" are almost never thrown around in jest or at all. Goldberg almost made that error in a heated conversation on live television, but was saved by a close call!
‘What the ...'
It isn’t too difficult to get Goldberg riled up, and frankly, after Monday’s episode of ‘The View’ centered around Tim Scott, Goldberg still had some cooling down to do. Griffin was especially excited to ask Kent a few questions, one of which was, “Tom Sandavol said something at the end of the last episode, so basically accusing you of pulling out your IUD and getting pregnant with your now child because another former cast member was pregnant, and you were basically competing for the limelight, could you respond to that? It’s absurd.”
Before Kent could even have a chance to respond, a frustrated Goldberg chimed in, “Does he not know how an IUD works?” The other cast members and the audience too reacted to Godberg’s statement with cheers and laughs as they all agreed. Goldberg then continued, “Tom! Babe! You can’t pull that out yourself, you need…what the ...” Well, we all know where that statement was headed! Despite Goldberg’s close call with swearing, at least the audience, co-hosts, and Kent had a blast with it.
Cutting off Kent
Although Goldberg received laughs and applause from everyone on the set of ‘The View’, this entire question was directed toward Kent. In addition to that, it was an emotional one, and Goldberg’s antics turned it into a laughing stock. Despite Kent’s laughter, she had an awkward and uncomfortable smile on her face the whole time, at least every time the camera panned away from Goldberg and to Kent, or the whole panel.
In addition to this, ‘The View’ took to social media to post two clips about their interview with Kent and ‘Vanderpump Rules’ but Goldberg didn’t have a single word in these clips, and her blunder was not publicized by ‘The View’.
