LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'They Cloned Tyrone' appears to be an ambitious experiment in film that nevertheless looks promising. It is the latest addition to a number of films that have subtly criticized government operations through absurdist fantasy. The film is quite obviously a political take with a fantastical imagining of very real issues. It comes with a cast and aesthetic that point at a clever satire.

'They Cloned Tyrone' is the directorial debut of Juel Taylor, who has previously worked for films like 'Creed II', 'Space Jam: A New Legacy' and 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts'. The film stars Jamie Foxx, who is also the producer alongside Taylor. 'They Cloned Tyrone' premiered on June 14, 2023 at the 27th American Black Film Festival. The script is a collaboration between Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier. The production company behind the film is MACRO Media.
