UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: Calla Prejean is just 22 years old but she seems to have achieved a lot in her career. Bagging 45.5K followers on social media, Calla was already an established and renowned singer before she came for the Blind Audition round in 'The Voice' Season 24.
Calla has worked with various singers and one of the famous names on her list is of Sara Evans. Ahead of Calla's performance, Sara even face-timed the songwriter to wish her good luck.
And, it seems that Sara's luck was helpful for Calla in the show. She managed to get bag a spot in 'The Voice' Season 24. Gwen Stefani turned her chair around for Calla without wasting any time. Gwen had only one seat left in her team, and Calla managed to win her heart to steal away that seat.
The 22-year-old Calla has been working as a professional songwriter since the age of 17. She moved to Nashville for her post-high school studies. Ever since then, she has been finding her gigs by working for various professionals.
'The Voice' Season 24: John Legend wished he had a spot left for Calla Prejean
John Legend was left overwhelmed after listening to Calla's performance. He said, "Did you know that you get to be on Team Gwen because she only had one spot left and she wanted to give it to you."
This made Calla feel thankful. John then went on to claim, "I would have turned for you too." Niall Horan affirmed saying, "Yeah, me too." Sadly, John and Niall did not have any spot left in their team
John went on to compliment the singer, "You sounded so great. Your version was just so comfortable and confident. I loved your performance."
'The Voice' coach Gwen Stefani feels Calla Prejean can work on mapping out her song
Gwen welcomed Calla into the team Gwen with an open heart. However, she believed that there are a few things that she needs to work on.
She said, "I think that one thing that we can work on together is also just sort of mapping out song a little bit better, when you're gonna do your runs and how you're gonna do your runs."
Gwen believes Cala has everything it takes to really be "very very strong" contestant on the show.
'The Voice' Season 24 airs every Monday at 8 pm ET and Tuesday at 9 pm ET on NBC.
