NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Luke Evans, known for his roles in 'Beauty and the Beast,' and 'The Hobbit' trilogy, has made a name for himself for his good looks, effort and talent. He has never concealed his sexual orientation as a gay man in Hollywood. Evans' love life was pretty quiet after he officially announced his split with art director Rafael Olarra, until reports about him and Spanish graphic designer Fran Tomas started to circulate in May 2022, as per the Daily Mail. In July that year, the couple made their relationship Instagram official, and things have been steady ever since.
On Saturday, June 10, Evans and Tomas attended the Tribeca Festival in New York City for the world premiere of the former's new movie, Our Son'. The 44-year-old 'Dracula Untold' star looked dapper in a silver double suit layered over a black shirt. His 32-year-old partner, on the other hand, sported a sharp black suit over a white t-shirt and completed the ensemble with a pair of black dress shoes. So who is man in Evans' life? Here is all you need to know about Tomas.
Who is Fran Tomas?
According to The Sun, Evans met Tomas in 2021 while filming 'Nine Perfect Strangers' in Australia. Tomas is employed at Solvia Inmobiliaria, a real estate company in Madrid founded in 2001, as a project manager, per his LinkedIn profile. He began his career as an architect and interior designer before establishing himself as an expert in the construction sector. Evans and Tomas crossed paths because of the latter's' involvement in "challenging new projects in Spain, UAE and in Australia," owing to his profession due to which he has to travel.
Sources close to Evans told The Sun in May 2022, "They are like-minded, really get each other's sense of humor and compliment each other well." Tomas and Evans' romance is still going strong and the two were spotted by the paparazzi spending some quality time with each other on a beach in Ibiza in August 2022.
What is Luke Evans' 'Our Son' about?
In 'Our Son', Evans and Billy Porter play a divorcing couple battling for custody of their eight-year-old son, portrayed by Christopher Woodley. According to Tribeca, Porter plays Gabriel, a promising artist who is juggling parenting his young son and his ambitious partner Nicky, played by Evans, while also trying to find his artistic and emotional spark.
'The couple have been going from strength to strength'
Evans and Tomas have been posting photos of each other on social media ever since they confirmed they were together. In 2022, Evans wished his followers a Merry Christmas on his Instagram page by posting a cute photo with Tomas. A close friend of Evans told The Sun that the couple was "going from strength to strength and quietly traveling all over the world together."
Evans acknowledged in a January 2021 interview with The Sunday Times that as he was getting older, he had been giving parenthood more serious thought. He said, "I thought about it many times and as I get older I'm thinking maybe I should get on and do it. I don't want to be an old dad . . . but I would like to be a dad. There's a lot of satisfaction to passing on your experiences and rearing a strong, open-minded, kind, respectful human being who can go in the world and do something."
