xQc admits he is discontent with Pokimane and other streamers' Twitch earnings prior to mega deal with Kick: 'I was furious for years'

QUEBEC, CANADA: Popular streamer xQc, whose fame has skyrocketed in recent times, disclosed his past frustrations over earnings on Twitch before landing a massive deal with Kick.

Despite being a major player in the streaming scene for years, xQc admitted that he wasn't making as much as some of his peers, particularly referencing Pokimane, a well-known streamer.

xQc admits being 'furious' about Pokimane and fellow streamers

During a recent live stream on Kick, xQc opened up about his past emotions, saying, "I was mad. I'm gonna say it how it is. I got a 'sweet deal,' but I was mad forever." He conveyed his dissatisfaction with witnessing other Twitch streamers securing lucrative contracts with substantial earnings for comparatively little effort.

xQc stated, "I was furious for years because all my peers at the time were getting massive — they were all on deals like, people like Pokimane and sh*t, were all on f*ckin’ bricked up contracts with all guarantees, and they had nothing to do.”

He pointed out that during the time when Twitch was booming, streamers received contracts with substantial minimum payouts, even though they had few or no deliverables.

This situation created a scenario, in xQc's words, where "people stopped trying."

His recent statements are significant, especially in light of his recent dispute with fellow streamer NICKMERCS, who contended that he was required to engage in gambling activities on Kick as part of a deal he struck with the platform.

xQc elaborated, saying, “No deliverables, or barely anything. They had to just kinda sit around and do nothing, with no performance bonus… and just get a fat f*cking payout."

He continued, "Like, actually fat. …when Twitch was booming at the time, everybody got those deals, where they would just sit around and do nothing, and get massive minimums. And you saw, people stopped trying.”

xQc's experience highlights the financial dynamics and frustrations faced by many streamers in the rapidly evolving world of online content creation and streaming platforms.

xQc faces criticism for his remark

xQc's recent comments about his frustrations with Twitch earnings and peer payouts, particularly mentioning Pokimane, have sparked controversy.

This isn't the first time the former Overwatch pro and his fellow Kick streamers have discussed Pokimane.

Recently, Kick co-founder Trainwreckstv engaged in an online dispute with her, referring to her as "corrupt."

The interaction involving xQc and the mention of Pokimane's name has garnered significant traction on social media, especially on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit.

xQc has faced criticism for frequently referencing Pokimane and other personalities, particularly when discussing issues related to his gambling streams and contractual arrangements.

One user wrote, "Gambling drama is being brought up, so now he’s deflecting to Pokimane again. Weird…"

Another user wrote, "easy way to get his community back on his side, 'hey guys remember those guys you hate way more than me haha I'm the good guy btw I'm not cringe like them haha, love me guys pls haha,' like jiggling keys to stop a baby from crying."

Another user pointed out, "Because they were the biggest opposition to gambling on Twitch. He says they stopped trying, meanwhile, this MF has had the same stream content for the past 4 years without a single change."
