LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: John Travolta is extending birthday wishes to his son Benjamin as the young one celebrates his 13th birthday on Thursday, November 23.
In an adorable Instagram post, the 'Pulp Fiction' star shares a video featuring music from Stevie Wonder's ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life.’ The video showcases Ben's growth and includes footage with his dog, Peanut.
“I can’t believe my baby boy is now a teenager,” the 'Saturday Night Fever' star captioned. “Ben turns 13 today. I love you, my son!”
Ella Travolta also wishes brother Ben on birthday
John's daughter Ella also conveyed birthday wishes to her little brother on Instagram.
In the post's caption, she wrote, "Happy Birthday my sweetest Benjamin, it feels like yesterday you were this young and now you’re 13!! I love you!❤️🎉." She shared a younger picture of Benjamin on social media.
John shares Ella and Ben with his late wife Kelly Preston, who passed away in 2020 from breast cancer.
The 69-year-old previously discussed grappling with grief following the loss. "I learned that mourning someone, living in grief, is very personal," John told Esquire Mexico in 2021.
"Grief is personal, and finding your own path is what could lead to healing. It's different from someone else's journey."
Travolta reveals Ben is a sports enthusiast
In 2019, John opened up about both Ben and Ella, stating, “He’s into gymnastics, tennis, fishing, and the computer world, like all the kids,” when talking about Ben.
While talking about Ella, he told People, “She is her person. She is gracious, generous, poised, graceful and gorgeous. I don’t know how she came to be, and I don’t take any credit other than just adoring her. And maybe that’s a valid contribution.”
She appeared in the 2021 flick 'Get Lost,' and 2009’s 'Old Dogs,' which features John and Robin Williams. Ella released her debut song, 'Dizzy,' in 2022.
He also emphasized the importance of allowing children to express themselves freely, stating, “I really do believe that children have rights. Just because they are little bodies doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t have a say-so,” he says.
“I find when you consult them, they can come up with much better ideas than yours.”
The couple also had a son, Jett, who died at age 16, in 2009.
Travolta's forthcoming film is a musical and romantic comedy titled 'That’s Amore!,' where he stars opposite Katherine Heigl.
