Tennis star Jessica Pegula has responded to the now viral gaffe at the Canadian Open which saw the song 'Cotton Eye Joe' play during a crucial point in her game against Iga Swiatek. The American upset the world number one in three sets to reach the final however there was only one moment that tennis fans were talking about after the contest. During a tie-break in the second set, Swiatek was serving at 3-4 when inexplicably the 1995 school disco classic 'Cotton Eye Joe' by Rednex started to play over the tannoys. The moment shocked those in attendance in Montreal and play was briefly paused. Speaking at the post-match press conference 29-year-old Pegula said that the she thought the moment was "funny" adding: "I've never had that happen, let alone with ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe.’ I was, like, ‘Is this really happening right now?’ Of all the songs. It was just, like, what is going on?” However, it wasn't all fun and games as she would go on to lose the tie-break. Even more annoying for her was the fact that the return she played just before Cotton Eye Joe blasted out of the speakers looked to be a good one. She said: "Yeah, it was a bummer because I hit a really good lob, and she barely got it, and I had a really good play on the ball, and she was kind of out of position from the lob that I hit. "So, I mean, I don't know if I would have won the point. Maybe. I would have been up 5-2, but that doesn't mean I'm going to win the tiebreaker. I think the wind started shifting, so I felt like I was really against the wind on that side, the side that that point happened on." Internet sensation PewDiePie has been hit with a mysterious Twitch ban – despite not even streaming. The Swedish influencer signed an exclusive deal with YouTube in 2020. However, a random stream appeared on PewDiePie's Twitch account in March, showing old videos and episodes of the Canadian comedy series Trailer Park Boys. PewDiePie's 'return' to the streaming platform left fans scratching their heads, with some speculating it to be a promotion for an upcoming project. Others believed his account was hacked. Dexerto later reported that CoPilotMedia appeared to have taken over the streamer's Twitch channel. Now, PewDiePie's Twitch account has been officially removed from the platform – and people aren't sure why. Instead, Twitch fans are greeted with a notice that reads: "This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service." In a February YouTube video shared on PewDiePie's 111 million subscriber-strong channel, the influencer said: "I’ve been keeping a secret from you guys, and that is I’m going to be a dad. "We found out that Marzia is pregnant first in November, and I’m just so thankful everything’s been going so well so far. "I’m so excited. It’s kind of strange to me, it’s entering new territory, but I feel really ready, and so does Marzia.” He added he feels "so lucky" to start a family "with the woman I love", going on to say that he has "absolutely no doubt" that Marzia will be "an amazing mother". Squid Game is the most-watched series on Netflix, and now details about season two of the survival thriller have been announced. Since the first season hit the streaming platform back in September 2021, the South Korean show became a global hit with fans desperate to know what happens next. While season two was confirmed in a teaser trailer last year, Netflix has released a cast announcement video to share which characters will be returning as well as new faces we'll see in the new series. New players were also introduced as they went up to the voting machine as seen in season one where players choose whether to continue in the game (green button) or to leave (red button), with all of them pressing green to indicate we will see them in the second season. The new cast members include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun - though there were no details as to the characters they are set to play in season two. So when can we expect the second season? Not for a while, according to the show's creator Hwang Dong-hyuk who told Vanity Fair in May last year that new episodes won't be ready for release until the end of 2023 at the earliest, with a 2024 release date being a possibility. The latter is looking more likely as Lee Jung-jae revealed back in February this year that filming for season two will commence in the summer and believes it will take longer to shoot than season one. “Squid Game 2 will begin filming in the summer and the filming will likely last for about 10 months," he told South Korea's Ilgan Sports. "We were working on Season 1 for about 10 months as well, but that was with delays caused by Covid-19. But seeing as Season 2 will be bigger in scale, it will probably take longer to complete." Elsewhere, Netflix also released a trailer for the real-life Squid Game series called Squid Game: The Challenge set to be released in November this year, the show has previously received criticism from contestants about conditions on set. Commentator Peter Drury is joining Sky Sports to cover the Premier League from next season following Martin Tyler’s departure. Tyler, who had spearheaded Sky’s coverage of the competition since it launched in 1992, is stepping down from his role ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. After Drury’s arrival was confirmed on Sunday, he said in a statement: “I’m massively excited to be joining Sky’s outstanding roster of commentators. “To be working on the best games week in week out with a broadcaster that has told the Premier League story since the very beginning feels like the opportunity of my career and I can’t wait to get started.” Sky Sports director of football Gary Hughes said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Peter Drury to Sky Sports. “Peter’s one of the game’s most poetic commentators and will bring great energy and enthusiasm as well as his award-winning broadcasting experience to our unrivalled coverage of the Premier League.” Drury, who has more than 30 years of experience across TV and radio, has previously worked for the BBC, ITV, Premier League Productions and BT Sport. He has been named Football Supporters’ Association Commentator of the Year for three of the last four seasons, and won the Sports Journalists’ Association Sports Commentator of the Year award in 2020.
