CLEVELAND, OHIO: Once again, Logan Paul, also known as The Maverick, has grabbed the spotlight with a viral clip posted on his Instagram story. In the video, he appeared to be in the process of selling his WWE US championship belt.
To provide context, Paul recently earned the US championship belt in a highly anticipated match against 48-year-old boxer Rey Mysterio on November 4, 2023, at Crown Jewel, causing a sensation on the internet.
Following the release of the video in which Paul seemed to be selling the belt, he took to Twitter, initiating a challenge related to a solid gold prime bottle and encouraging fans to decipher it. Soon after, Paul appeared to destroy the bottle.
Logan Paul says ‘I don’t know the history’ of US championship belt
Logan Paul's Instagram story featured a video in which he attempted to sell the US Championship belt to a pawnbroker.
Holding the belt, he confidently asserted, "I wanted to see how much I could get for this—it's a WWE United States Championship." The pawnbroker, intrigued, questioned, "Am I allowed to buy this?"
Paul responded, "If you have a good offer. I don’t know the history behind this belt, but I do know it was taken from Rey Mysterio. How about $100k for this?" The pawnbroker cautioned, "Careful, that's the US Title. Are you expecting me to buy it from you?"
Paul retorted, "Maybe Cody Rhodes walks in here, or Seth Rollins walks in here, or perhaps a guy like LA Knight. But sure as hell, he's not getting it from me." He then stylishly displayed the belt on his hip, declaring, "How does it look like this, like a gangster?"
Finally, Paul and the pawn shop owner posed together for a photo with the belt. The video concluded, and it's worth noting that Paul might have gauged the value of the WWE US Championship belt.
Internet reacts to Logan Paul selling WWE US championship belt
After witnessing the footage of Paul attempting to sell his WWE championship to a pawn shop owner, one disgruntled fan expressed disdain, remarking, "This truly highlights your lack of contribution to the title scene; you're diminishing its value without acknowledging its history. Show more respect for something many held dear in their childhood."
Another critic chastised Paul, stating, "Your behavior is cringe-worthy, talking down to someone as if you're superior. You're a terrible human being."
A third fan directed criticism at the boxer Triple H, commenting, "He claims he doesn't know the history, and WWE actually bestowed upon him the title? Triple H's decision-making is unbelievable. Bring back Vince, man."
A fourth fan highlighted the potential repercussions of Paul's actions, stating, "Selling a sports entertainment company's property can lead to immediate termination."
A fifth fan offered a contrasting perspective, stating, "This is f*****g hilarious."
Logan Paul melts solid gold bottle
After the video went viral, Paul and KSI took to Twitter to present a challenge, inviting fans to crack a code protecting a $500k Golden Prime bottle.
In celebration of selling 1 billion bottles of Prime Hydration, Paul and KSI launched an engaging challenge for their followers. The task involved deciphering a code that would unlock a case containing the coveted Golden Prime bottle, valued at $500k.
However, a crucial stipulation was that fans needed to decode the message within a 48-hour window to be eligible for the prize. Importantly, the challenge took place simultaneously in both London and New York.
Two youngsters from London successfully cracked the code, leading to KSI crowning a winner for the London Golden Prime bottle.
Meanwhile, in New York, Paul introduced an additional twist, making the already challenging 48-hour time limit even more daunting.
The bottle whose case was unlocked first would be the sole survivor, with the other facing melting down, resulting in only one true winner.
As Paul observed the melting of the Golden Prime bottle in a machine, he exclaimed, "Get closer, it's melting. You can see it. Oh my gosh, that hurts. That's $250,000 gone, gone like that. No, no."
Notably, the fate of the gold used to craft the Golden Prime bottle remains uncertain. As mentioned in the post, the bottle underwent dissolution in acid, supposedly causing the complete dissolution of the gold. Whether the $500k is genuinely lost forever is yet to be determined.
