The first look at the new Willy Wonka film, appropriately called Wonka, has debuted its trailer online and people are just a little bit stunned by Hugh Grant's appearance. The new movie, directed by Paddington director Paul King, is set to hit cinemas in December and will see Timothee Chalamet take on the iconic role from the Roald Dahl novel, previously played by the likes of Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder. This film though is a prequel to Wonka's adventures in his famous chocolate factory. Instead, it sees a much younger Wonka setting up his empire and hist first ever shop. Although his awe-inspiring factory is unlikely to feature in the film, there are a few little references to the man he would become including the iconic Oompa Loompa's who helped Wonka run the factory. However, in another surprising career move, Hugh Grant will play an Oompa Loompa in the new movie, which is a lot different to the foppish heartthrob roles that he played in the 90s but still looks very entertaining given the short snippet we see at the end of this trailer. Reaction to Hugh Grant in the film, has been mixed to say the least with some fascinated by it and others horrified. Wonka is set to hit cinemas on December 15th. Have your say in our news democracy. Disabled fans of “Anti-Hero” singer Taylor Swift appear to have some “Bad Blood” (sorry) with ticket sellers, as the system for access bookings for the international leg of her unbelievably popular Eras tour has been branded “abysmal” and a “shambles” by those hoping to see the singer-songwriter live. The presale for her shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium got underway on Monday, with those who pre-ordered Swift’s album Midnights receiving special codes to try and get tickets before anyone else. Liverpool’s presale launched on Tuesday, while early access to tickets for her Cardiff date in June 2024 are set to go on sale on Wednesday. Swift will then come back to perform at Wembley again from 15-17 August, in her last dates of the tour. However, while Twitter was awash with Swifties celebrating nabbing the coveted tickets – which range anywhere from £58.65 to £194.75 at Wembley – disabled people have called out Wembley Stadium as they’ve struggled to secure access tickets: Despite offering seats to those with a “hearing impairment” (a term considered “negative” and “offensive” by deaf and hard of hearing people), Wembley Stadium requires disabled people to call a phone number in order to purchase access tickets. SignVideo, a British Sign Language (BSL) service, is available for BSL signers, but deaf and hard of hearing people who do not use BSL to communicate are expected to use the phone, which may not be accessible to them. Amid ongoing issues, Wembley Stadium shared a tweet on Tuesday and said: “Due to unprecedented demand waiting time for ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour’, disabled access is longer than normal. “For those unable to wait on the phone we have a call-back system … Please note this is not a guarantee of tickets.” It's not the first time ticket sellers and venues for a Taylor Swift show have come under fire, as issues with sales for the American leg of her tour saw US fans blast Ticketmaster for its handling of demand. Ryan Gosling has been heard singing as Ken in the new Barbie movie for the first time - and naturally, Slash is on the guitar. “I’m just Ken, anywhere else, I’d be a 10", he sings, weeping to Barbie (Margot Robbie) as she prepares to leave Barbie Land. The sneak preview of the track, titled 'I'm Just Ken', will appear alongside the likes of Ice Spice, Dua Lipa, and Billie Eilish on the star-studded soundtrack. A former Disney child star sparked criticism after charing her young online fans in order to enter a raffle. Skai Jackson faced backlash from some fans who disagreed with the star charging fans $5 each to enter a raffle in which they could win a new MacBook laptop. The 21-year-old actor rose to fame thanks to roles in the Disney shows Jessie and Bunk’d and according to reports has a net worth of $2 million. So, fans were left confused when Jackson went live on TikTok and asked followers to enter a raffle and pay $5 “for a chance to win a MacBook”. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Jackson said: “I don’t know if you guys have been to school before, but I know I’ve been to school, and we used to have raffles all the time, where you get a ticket – it might be a physical ticket – but you put in $5, $2, whatever and you get a prize.” In the live video, Jackson claimed the cost of entering the raffle would go towards the prize itself and, if there was any leftover money, it would go towards a follow-up giveaway “soon”. She continued: “I do not need money,” adding, “Me personally, I do not need money. And I’m not saying this like, in a bragging way or anything … I’m just letting you guys know I do not personally need money, like, I am very fine in my life. I don’t need money.” But, it seems that some were left unconvinced by her explanation of the raffle’s funding. One person suggested: “If you ‘don’t need the money’ why not you just give the MacBook away.” Another said: “‘The money goes towards the prize’… that’s not how raffles work mama.” A winner of the Macbook raffle appeared to be chosen on 8 July as Jackson shared their Instagram handle and a screenshot of their conversation on her Twitter.
