Margot Robbie says it took just one question to get John Cena in the Barbie movie
Margot Robbie has recalled the one question that it took to convince John Cena to join the cast of Greta Gerwig's Barbie. The pair reportedly ran into each other at a restaurant, where Cena had paid for Robbie's bill, so she decided to shoot her shot. "He was shooting at (Warner Bros Studios) Leavesden where we shot the film as well and I was like, ‘That’s where we’re shooting Barbie’", she recalls. "I was like, ‘Do you wanna come be a Merman in Barbie?’ He was like, ‘Uh, yeah’ and I was like, ;surely he’s not gonna agree to it just like that.'" Click here to sign up for our newsletters

The truth behind the 'hologram' that handed Drake a book at concert
Music fans were left mind-blown last week when Drake was seemingly handed a book by a 'hologram' of his younger self during a concert in Chicago - but all is not as it seems. In fact, it turns out a real person was sat next to the rapper, which would make sense when it comes to physical interaction (and not by the power of magic). Instead, an AI hologram was reportedly placed over the actor's face, to make it look like he was Drake. Click here to sign up for our newsletters

Margot Robbie's Barbie stunt double says she wasn't told what the movie was about
Margot Robbie's body double in Barbie says she had no idea what the hotly anticipated film was about. Barbie marks Emma Eastwood's first gig as a body double after she applied to be an extra but got turned down. She was then hired to be Robbie's hand double but later took on more prominent scenes in the film. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Eastwood candidly shared that she didn't quite know the concept of Barbie. "They did a very good job of keeping the plot hidden," Eastwood said, adding that she wasn't given "any details" about what they would be doing. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "There were a couple times they said the whole cast would be there and it would be an important day, but they never actually gave me any details of what we would be doing until I was on set," she continued. In one scene, Eastwood said she was required to lie on the ground for an hour. "When I got up, I literally felt drunk," she told the publication. "I have no idea what that scene was about." Another scene saw her walk up a flight of stairs as though her feet hurt. Eastwood finally lifted the lid on her recent endeavour in a Twitter post, where she told followers she can now publicly reveal she worked as Robbie's doube. "Had the best experience of my life and will absolutely never shut up about it," she wrote. Greta Gerwig's Barbie, featuring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, Micheal Cera and Issa Rae, is set to hit cinemas on 21 July. Have your say in our news democracy. Despite the pair being relatively unknown to wider audiences their casting was amazingly predicted way back in December 2020 by one keen comic book fan. On December 1 2020, Kunal B wrote: "A #Superman reboot starring David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Let it be linked to Matt Reeves Batman franchise (not directly, just in the same universe)." The tweet has resurfaced following the news about Corenswet and Brosnahan and needless to say, people are impressed. "F**king impressive," one person wrote in response. Another added: "Bro seeing into the future." A third person asked him to: "now do James Bond." A fourth said: "You’re definitely a time traveler." No release date has been set for Superman: Legacy but it is scheduled to hit cinemas in the summer of 2025. Have your say in our news democracy.
