Conor McGregor challenged YouTuber-turned-fighter KSI to a "bare-knuckle" fight following Anthony Joshua's latest victory against Robert Helenius. It all started when the Irishman got in the ring for post-fight interviews to praise Joshua's win on Saturday (August 12). "Greatness don't rush, Joshua took his time, he landed a big heavy shot, I'm just happy Helenius got up," McGregor said. "The fans should be grateful for the Finnish coming in, a last-minute replacement, no fear he gave a great performance, did himself proud and his team and I'm happy to see him get up. He continued: "Big congrats to AJ, big congrats to Eddie, big congrats Forged Irish Stout." In a bizarre turn of events, the 35-year-old took a swipe at KSI, saying: "I know your man KSI is in the crowd, yeah. He couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg boxing factory," he exclaimed. "So, if he wants to get in here, we’ll give him a fight - bare-knuckle if you want." However, it appeared as though the Prime owner had already left the O2 Arena, as he later tweeted: "Lmao just seen this. Jake Paul must be crying that I’ve got Connor on my dick already and I didn’t even have to fight an MMA fighter." Conor McGregor has confirmed his long-awaited UFC return with an ambitious three-fight plan to take on Michael Chandler, Justin Gaethje and a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz. McGregor must first spend six months in the United States’ anti-doping testing pool and return two negative tests before he is eligible to fight, having not competed since 2021 – unless he is granted a special exemption. “Chandler next, in December,” McGregor told TalkSport of his plans, speaking after Anthony Joshua’s win at the O2 Arena on Saturday night. “And then Gaethje for the BMF showdown. And following that, we’ll seal the deal with the Nate Diaz trilogy.” McGregor and Chandler have been filming the new season ofThe Ultimate Fighter ahead of their own clash, which is still without a date, location and weight class. Gaethje recently avenged a 2018 loss to Dustin Poirier by knocking out his fellow American with a stunning head kick to win the ‘Baddest Motherf*****’ (BMF) title. Afterwards McGregor used social media to call out Gaethje, saying: “I’ll slap you around.” Diaz, who submitted McGregor in March 2016 before losing to the Irishman on points that August, left the UFC in September 2022 after submitting Tony Ferguson. “I’ll get that again,” McGregor, 34, said on The MMA Hour. “We’ll get that trilogy at some stage for sure. That’s when he was gone that he was [supposed to be] doing the show. So, you know what way that is, it’s all politics and all that. “We must fight, we’re one a piece. It’s a great rivalry, and it was a great fight. So, we gotta square that away for sure. Am I a person not to get the fights made and done? Look at all the fights I’ve had. When I say it, it happens. “I have a load of bouts left in me and a load of stories incomplete, and I’m excited to continue on and get them done.”

Tennis star Jessica Pegula has responded to the now viral gaffe at the Canadian Open which saw the song 'Cotton Eye Joe' play during a crucial point in her game against Iga Swiatek. The American upset the world number one in three sets to reach the final however there was only one moment that tennis fans were talking about after the contest. During a tie-break in the second set, Swiatek was serving at 3-4 when inexplicably the 1995 school disco classic 'Cotton Eye Joe' by Rednex started to play over the tannoys. The moment shocked those in attendance in Montreal and play was briefly paused. Speaking at the post-match press conference 29-year-old Pegula said that the she thought the moment was "funny" adding: "I've never had that happen, let alone with ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe.’ I was, like, ‘Is this really happening right now?’ Of all the songs. It was just, like, what is going on?” However, it wasn't all fun and games as she would go on to lose the tie-break. Even more annoying for her was the fact that the return she played just before Cotton Eye Joe blasted out of the speakers looked to be a good one. She said: "Yeah, it was a bummer because I hit a really good lob, and she barely got it, and I had a really good play on the ball, and she was kind of out of position from the lob that I hit. "So, I mean, I don't know if I would have won the point. Maybe. I would have been up 5-2, but that doesn't mean I'm going to win the tiebreaker. I think the wind started shifting, so I felt like I was really against the wind on that side, the side that that point happened on." Thousands of Arsenal and Nottingham Forestfans were stuck outside Emirates Stadium on Saturday 12 August for their Premier League opener, as turnstile issues led to a kick-off delay. Arsenal have introduced a new e-ticketing system for this season and that was reported to be the delay at the turnstiles. Over 35,000 supporters were queuing up outside the ground just a few minutes before the scheduled 12:30pm kick-off and with empty seats in the stadium, the start was pushed back by at least 30 minutes. Footage broadcast by TNT Sports showed the chaos outside of the Emirates.
