LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A video game turned HBO adaptation show, ‘The Last of Us’ Season 1, gave its millions of viewers a sad and confusing ending. Like the original video game, the series will release the second part. Although the game players are lucky to know what comes next, the cinematic version might take a different trail than the original story. Nevertheless, the real trauma is ahead of Season 2 with the addition of a new character, Abby.
The original video game story ‘The Last of Us II’ has been subject to various controversies, as fans are eager to know what will happen to Joel and Ellie in Season 2. In the second part of the video game, Abby kills Joel, portraying the likeliness of the limited role of Joel (Pedro Pascal) in the upcoming season. Besides, the show’s director, Neil Druckmann, has released a teaser on his Instagram that highly reflects Abby’s significant role. The poster illustrates Abby’s arm clutching a hammer, pictured in front of a forest backdrop containing several burning cars. Additionally, fans are speculating that the cinematic version of the show might take Joel’s death to the very end, jumping straight to Abby’s solo stories. Well, one can only think of possibilities; let’s wait for the trailer to drop the bomb in the zombie version.

Who is Abby in 'The Last of Us' Season 2?
As per the video games, Abby is known as one of the two protagonists of ‘The Last of Us’ Part II. Abby Anderson is the thrilling character in the game and the daughter of Jerry Anderson, who got killed in Salt Lake City. Before his death, he joined Fireflies, but after his murder, the Fireflies disbanded. Later, Abby and her friends are seen to have joined the Washington Liberation Front. In the game, Abby meets with Joel and learns the truth. Taking matters into her own hands, she kills him with a golf club. The rest of the game continues with two stories- Abby’s and Ellie’s. While Ellie is seeking revenge for Joel’s death, Abby tries to move on in her life. Most of the game is devoted to Ellie hunting down Abby’s friends and murdering them to avenge his father figure, Joel’s death. There are many criticisms around Abby’s character. Some justify her story, while others complain that her story is underdeveloped. For now, Abby is a big deal for Season 2, according to the poster.
Will Abby star in ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2?
Abby will likely be there in the second season of the show. Besides, if the series keep following the game’s storyline, then yes, Abby is definitely going to be there with a jaw-dropping thrilling character. For the non-players of the video game, the gap between Part I and Part II was long 5 years. So, it actually makes sense that season 2 will flesh out some new angles to the storyline and showcase Abby on an adventurous ride.
Was Abby in ‘The Last of Us’ Season 1?
Abby’s character hasn’t been officially cast in Season 2, so she was obviously not there in Season 1. However, in Episode 9 of Season 1, when Joel goes to rampage to save Ellie, he’s seen shooting people. In that particular scene, a woman with a braid runs past him, which is speculated to be Abby. It’s a completely insane theory, but according to the video game, Abby is in her early 20s. Also, the similarity between the “braid” of the women in Season 1 and Abby in Part II is what makes this theory quite plausible.
